How Windscreen Insurance Claims Work
In New Zealand, most comprehensive vehicle insurance policies include windscreen and glass cover. That means if your windscreen, side window or rear glass is damaged, your insurer will cover the replacement cost β usually minus a small glass excess (often $0 to $100).
At West Auckland Windscreens, the majority of our jobs are insurance claims. We make the process simple: you call us, we handle the rest.
Tip: You don't need to call your insurer first. In many cases, the glass company can lodge the claim on your behalf. Call us and we'll tell you the fastest path.

- AA Insurance β One of the largest providers in NZ. Glass claims are usually handled through their approved supplier network.
- State Insurance β Comprehensive policies typically include windscreen cover with a low excess.

- FMG β Rural and commercial vehicle specialists; we handle FMG claims regularly.

The 4-Step Claim Process
1Check Your Policy
Confirm you have glass cover and note your excess amount. This is usually shown in your policy document or app.
2Call Us First
Phone 09 827-2827 with your vehicle make, model, year, registration, policy number and insurer name.
3We Handle the Claim
We contact your insurer, submit the claim paperwork and order the correct glass for your vehicle.
4We Fit & Invoice
We come to you in West Auckland, replace the glass, and invoice your insurer. You pay only your excess if applicable.
Not Insured? No Problem
If you don't have glass cover or you're not insured at all, we'll give you a firm, fair price upfront. No hidden fees. Private jobs are common and we treat them with the same priority as insurance work.
